Knights defeated St Charles North 12-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Grace Algrim struck out Heaton to finish off the game.

The Knights got things started in the first inning when Hailey Roach homered on a 3-2 count, scoring
two runs.

The girls notched three runs in the seventh inning. The Knights big bats were led by Donatela Sommesi and Maddy Wheatley, who all drove in runs.

A single by Sobieski in the fourth inning was a positive for St Charles North.

Emilee Erickson got the win for the Kaneland Knights . She went six innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out ten and walking one. Algrim threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Pappas took the loss for St Charles North. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out three.

The Knights smacked two home runs on the day. Roach went deep in the first inning. Sommesi went for the long ball in the seventh inning.

Kaneland Knights collected ten hits on the day. Rose Roach, Roach, and Cassidy Motyka each racked up multiple hits . Motyka, Roach, and Roach all had two hits to lead the Knights. Knights didn’t commit a single error in the field. Olivia Ortegel had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Vandettei went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead St Charles North in hits.
