The Sophomore girls got back into the win column with a 27-19 win over the DeKalb Barbs. Once again plagued with cold shooting, hitting only 11 of 55 shots (20%), the Knights used some stellar defense and rebounding to turn back the Barbs. For the night, they pulled in 39 rebounds, while creating numerous turnovers, including 11 steals. The rebounding effort was led by Sarah Elliott, coming within 1 of tying Lexie Johnson’s single game season-high of 12 rebounds earlier in the season, by grabbing 6 offensive and 5 defensive boards to go along with 2 points and a steal. Taylor Carlson led the scoring with 11 points, including 3 3-pointers, while playing some tough defense. Nora Crimmins had a nice floor game with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. The lady Knights travel to Rochelle on Tuesday for a 5:30 game.
