It was a tale of two halves at Geneseo Saturday afternoon as the Lady Knight sophs parlayed one of their better halves of the season into a 21-12 halftime lead only to watch it vanish in a mistake-filled second half. 17 Knight turnovers led to numerous easy baskets by Geneseo and saw Kaneland only get 13 shot attempts for the half. In spite of the errors, the girls still were within striking distance of a win in the back & forth 4th quarter, but missed on 6 of 9 free throws during the quarter and turned the ball over the last two possessions to seal the win for Geneseo. Kenzie Schueler had a strong offensive performance, hitting 7 of 10 shots on the way to 21 points, while Nora Crimmins had a fine floor game with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal to go with 5 points. Mya Saltijeral added 6 points, 5 rebounds and an assist. The girls have 4 games scheduled this week, weather permitting, with a game at Yorkville on Tuesday, home against LaSalle-Peru on Wednesday, Morris at home on Friday and host ACC during the Hoops for a Cure Shootout on Saturday.
