McKenna Ryan didn’t allow a single run as Kaneland defeated Morris 11-0 on Tuesday. Ryan allowed just three hits.
Kaneland was boosted by Donatela Sommesi who went 4-for-5 at the plate. Sommesi singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the seventh.
The Knights tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Olivia Stoker, Rose Roach, and Sommesi powered the big inning with RBIs.
A single by Kennedy Dransfeldt in the first inning was a positive for Morris.
Ryan was the winning pitcher for Kaneland. She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out three and walking zero.
Madigan Doss took the loss for Morris. She went six and a third innings, allowing 11 runs on ten hits, striking out three and walking one.
Kaneland had 11 hits in the game. Sommesi, Roach, and Maddy Wheatley each managed multiple hits for The Knights. Sommesi went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Kaneland in hits.
