The game was tied at eight with Kaneland Knights JV batting in the top of the fifth when Jenna Harper doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.
Harper collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Kaneland Knights JV to victory. Harper doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.
After the Knights scored one run in the top of the third, Plainfield North answered with one of their own. Kaneland scored when Kyra Johnson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Kaneland tallied seven runs in the fourth inning, led by Taylor Hames, Morgan Iwanski, Johnson, and Sammy Dunne, all driving in runs in the frame.
Izzy Martinez earned the win for Kaneland. Martinez lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking zero.
The Knights had 17 hits in the game. Harper, Johnson, Iwanski, Hames, and Dunne each collected multiple hits. Johnson and Harper each collected four hits to lead the team.
