Kaneland Knights JV Overcomes Burlington Central In Face Of Early 8-Run Inning
Despite allowing eight runs in the sixth inning, Kaneland Knights JV defeated Burlington Central 15-11 on Friday.
Bats blistered as Kaneland Knights JV collected 13 hits and Burlington Central tallied 11 in the high-scoring game.
Kaneland fired up the offense in the first inning, when Makenna Sikon singled on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.
Jeanie Ramos led the Knights to victory in the circle. She surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Sarah Elliott threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Elliott recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Kaneland.
Kaneland hit one home run on the day. Elliott went deep in the sixth inning.
The Knights totaled 13 hits. Rachael Hendricks, Ramos, Alyssa Stoker, and Sikon all collected multiple hits. Ramos and Hendricks each collected three hits to lead the team.
