Temperature in the 40s and a monster wind in the face didn’t deter the Kaneland Boys Track and Field team from bringing home a slew of medals and new PRs! Seeded to get 6th place with 50 points, we outperformed our seed in almost every area and came away with a 4th place finish with 66 points against some powerhouse Class 3A competition!

The 4×800 came away with a 4th place in a new season PR of 8:14.21, anchored by junior Austin Adams 1:58 anchor leg! Our Fr/So 4×800 ran a new season PR with 9:00.30 with PR legs from Isaiah Dallal, Nolan Allen, Jai Sekhon, and Logan Cunz! In the Fr/So 3200, Chris Fountain and Charles Fitts had HUGE PRs, running 11:14.12 and 11:16.31 respectively. That’s a 37 second PR for Chris Fountain! Jacob Wielgos ran an excellent 10:13.6 in the varsity 3200! Porter Conroy took 4th overall in the Fr/So 110m High Hurdles with 17.85. In the Fr/So 100, Angel Valenciano and Rocco Bastone both had PRs, running 12.28 and 12.29! Angel also had a huge PR in the open 400 running 59.01! Austin Adams moved up to #28 all-time in the 400 running 52.44 and taking 6th place overall. Aidan Lodwig also had a PR with a 55.70. Our Varsity 4×200 ran the 9th fastest time in School history with a 1:31.49, team consisted of Colton Doll, Ted Allen, Chris Angelotti, and Max Gagne.

The Fr/So mile featured 2 PRs from Isaiah Dallal and Aaron Lodwig who ran 4:44.95 and 4:45.86 to take 7th and 8th! In the Varsity 1600, Daniel Occhipinti was seeded to get 6th and ended up taking 2nd overall, running a tremendous final 400, passing 4 guys to take 2nd place with a 4:26.97! Jacob Petrik also PRd with a 4:57.01! In the Varsity 200, Max Gagne was seeded to get 10th, but ended up running the #36 best time in school history with a 23.47 and taking 6th overall! Our Fr/So 4×400 took 7th overall featuring a 52.4 split from Teddy Allen! Varsity 4×4 took 4th with 52.2 splits from Chris Angelotti and Austin Adams.

In the Field, Ted Allen and Nate Bermes took 4th and 6th in the Pole Vault. Aidan Gatz took 4th in the Fr/So division. Micah Pryor had a big day with 2 PRs and placing 7th in the Fr/So High Jump with 5’5 and 3rd in the Fr/So shot put with 39’11”! Porter Conroy took 2nd overall in the Varsity high jump with 6’1″. Ryan Rinella took 6th in Fr/So Long Jump and 3rd in Fr/So Triple Jump. Colton Doll took 3rd in Varsity Long Jump and 3rd in Varsity Triple Jump! Drew Hahn took 6th in Varsity shot put and teammate Brandon Roberts PRd with a put of 42’11.5 and also took 4th in the varsity Discus with 134’3!

In big meets like this, we always strive to outperform our seed time, PR, and let the places take care of themselves. We were the smallest school in attendance by 500 students and the boys competed with a chip on their shoulder, ready to prove we can compete with some of the State’s best!

The Knights will have a very quick turnaround and are back in action Monday at Yorkville.
