It was the last match of the week for the Lady Knights, and they found the drive to succeed against Rochelle Township 5-0. The JV put the pace on the ball and placed strategic shots all afternoon, leading to their victory. In first singles, Maddy Rizzuto played every angle on the courts and won against Jordan Dickey 6-2, 6-0. In second singles, Brenna Sheehan stayed light on her feet in her win against Sawyer McGee 6-1, 6-1. In first doubles, Sarah Schimmel and Jenna Lin used their pace and great communication to pull ahead of Emma Hicks and Shell Cato-Samaranch 6-0, 6-0. In second doubles, Mia Bergman and Delaney Douglas utilized their fast serves and placement to win against Riley Flanagan and Anna Guevara 6-1, 6-1. In third doubles, Ashlyn Hain and Hannah Wootton dug in and earned their win against Haley Miller and Ella Seelach 6-2, 6-0. In their exhibition matches, Jenna Mauthe and Taylor Hames played a strategic 8 game pro-set and won 8-0. Rileigh Williams and Gabby Parker made use of every open space in their opponents’ courts and won 8-4. It was a beautiful day for success on the Kaneland tennis courts. Congratulations, girls!
