Delaney Sheehan had a busy day at the plate on Thursday, smacking four hits in Knights’s 15-2 victory over DeKalb. Sheehan singled in the first, tripled in the third, tripled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
Kaneland notched six runs in the third inning. They put the pressure on, lead by doubles by Kellie Fabbri and Sarah Elliott, a triple by Danyelle Borysiewicz, a triple by Sheehan, and an RBI groundout by Emily Boyd.
Emma Bachio earned the victory in the circle. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one.
The Knights collected 19 hits on the day. Sheehan, Boyd, Makenna Sikon, Borysiewicz, and Fabbri each managed multiple hits. Sheehan led the team with four hits in four at bats. Borysiewicz led the way with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 16 stolen bases. Kaneland was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Elliott had the most chances in the field with five.
