The Knights blasted their way to an impressive victory over #14 Plainfield South (16-3) behind their hot bats and great pitching.
Mason Kottmeyer pitched 5 solid innings scattering 10 hits and striking out 4 to earn the win while Alijah Acevedo came in for the 2 inning save giving up 1 hit, 1 run, and striking out 3.
Offensively the Knights lit up the scoreboard with 14 runs on 17 hits.
The Knights had 6 players with multiple hits today.
Leading the way was Bryce Stair who was 3-3 with a run scored and a double, and Tommy Shaw who was 3-4 with a double, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
Nik Panico was also 3-5 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and a run scored.
Angel Acevedo, Joe Born, and Dalton Askew all had 2 hits today.
Acevedo had a double with 2 runs scored and an RBI, while Askew was a perfect 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Born also had 2 runs scored and Mike Rogers drove in 2 runs with his double.
The Knights move to 14-7 and get back to conference play on Monday at Dekalb.
